Glastonbury · Growing and tying since 1971
Flowers that look like they were picked, not bought
Most of what is in the buckets was cut that morning on the patch behind the shop. Nothing is wired into a dome, nothing arrives in cellophane, and what is in season is what there is.

What we would take home
Most of it was cut on the patch behind the shop that morning. What is here depends entirely on what the season is doing.

Collections
The Wild Bunch3 in the shop
Loose, hand-tied and mostly grown out the back. What is in them depends entirely on the week.
Handfasting3 in the shop
Crowns, garlands and buttonholes for weddings, handfastings and anything else.
Everlasting3 in the shop
Dried and pressed, hung in the rafters since August. These outlast everyone.
Potted & Rooted3 in the shop
Plants in hand-painted terracotta, and macramé hangers knotted in the back room.
Half an acre, and whatever it feels like doing
The shop opened in 1971 selling whatever could be carried down from the hedgerows, and it has never entirely stopped doing that. What changed is that we now grow most of it ourselves, on half an acre of old allotment behind the building.
Growing your own means the shop runs on what the patch is doing rather than on what a wholesaler flew in. In June there is more cosmos than anyone knows what to do with. In February there are twelve kinds of dried seed head and a lot of narcissi.
Nothing here is wired into a dome or sprayed to match. A bunch is tied in the hand, turned as it goes, and finished when it looks right — which is why no two are the same size and why we have never once managed to photograph the same bouquet twice.
Summer ’26
A Handfasting on the Tor
Everything for one wedding, cut the morning of and carried up the hill in two trugs. Nothing was ordered in and nothing was wired.

Where to find us
When the shop is shut you can still find our buckets around town. The market stall carries whatever was cut that morning, and the cafés take jars each Friday.
